Commission on Parenting Time Guidelines schedules virtual meeting for January 30

The South Dakota Supreme Court’s Commission on Parenting Time Guidelines is scheduled to meet virtually via Zoom on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. CST. The meeting will focus on reviewing proposed amendments to the Commission’s recommended changes to the Parenting Time Guidelines and will also include a period for public comment.

The Commission meets every four years to review the guidelines and prepares a report with any recommendations for the Supreme Court, Governor, and Legislature. Its most recent final report and recommended guidelines are available online.

Formed in 2020, the Commission consists of members representing various backgrounds, including a circuit court judge, family law attorney, childhood development professional, non-custodial parent, custodial parent, state representative, and state senator.
