Mexican national sentenced for illegal reentry into United States

United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that a Mexican national, Anselmo Flores-Nava, has been sentenced for illegal reentry after deportation. The sentencing was conducted by U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler on June 2, 2025.

Flores-Nava, aged 35, received a sentence of time served, which amounted to approximately four months. Previously deported from the United States in 2016, he was discovered back in the country in January 2025. Reentering the United States after being deported is classified as a federal felony.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin Patterson.

Following his sentencing, Flores-Nava was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending removal action.
