The event will take place in Courtroom C8 on the first floor of the Pennington County Courthouse in Rapid City. The public is invited to attend and celebrate the achievements of the graduate. For those unable to be present, the ceremony will be available for live streaming online at https://www.sdpb.org/sdnetwork/ujs/court2.
The Pennington County DUI Court began operations in Rapid City in 2013. The program focuses on recovery rather than just sobriety for participants. According to the court’s definition, “Recovery” is defined as a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives and strive to reach their full potential.
Treatment courts are considered an effective way to help people with substance use and mental health disorders move from involvement with the criminal justice system toward stable and productive lives.
