A Rapid City man has been sentenced to over three years in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender. U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler sentenced Bradley Makes Room For Them, 40, to three years and two months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

Makes Room For Them was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2025 and pleaded guilty on July 7, 2025. He has a prior conviction for Aggravated Sexual Abuse from September 2003, which requires him to register as a sex offender and update his registration within three business days if he relocates or changes employment or student status.

He previously was convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2023. After being released from prison in November 2024 and starting supervised release, he failed again to update his registration. An arrest warrant was issued, and Makes Room For Them was arrested on December 13, 2024.

United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced the sentencing took place on October 1, 2025.

“This case was brought as a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by the U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims. The U.S. Marshals Service investigated this case. Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson prosecuted it.

Makes Room For Them was immediately remanded into custody following sentencing.
